Angie Eckenroth- Radiant Yoga- Overland Park

As an avid runner for many years, Angie eventually learned the toll that the sport had taken on her body. She developed sciatica nerve problems in her right leg. It hurt to run, drive and sometimes walk. Desperate to find relief, Angie took her first yoga class in 2002 and was amazed at how much more mobile she felt after just one class. After an on again, off again practice, she decided to deepen her commitment to yoga and enrolled in her first yoga training. She has since completed her 200 hour teacher training, and has begun her study of Yoga Therapy. Angie has received training from Dr. Linda Rowe, author of “Yoga for your Back” and a Yoga Alliance Board Member, in the area of Yoga Therapy. She has also studied with Matthew J. Taylor, of the Matthew J. Taylor Institute and President of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Angie has also drawn inspiration from other wonderful teachers such as Max Strom, Sadie Nardini and James Miller. Angie combines her knowledge and love of yoga with a human resource background in employee training to help guide teacher trainees on their journey to becoming yoga teachers. Angie is also the co-creator of the Kansas City Yoga Festival.

Leah Morgan- Core Balance Yoga Center- South East KC

Leah began her yoga journey as a student many years ago out of a curiosity.  Wondering what all the fuss was about, she rolled out a mat at a local health club and gave it a shot.  With that first class she started down a path of yoga that ultimately led to Leah becoming a 200-hour+ trained yoga teacher.  Studying inspiring yoga leaders such as Max Strom, Sadie Nardini, Shakta Kaur Khalsa, Matthew Taylor and Doug Swenson, Leah has honed her unique style, which is a fusion of breathing, alignment, honoring your body, living in the moment and having fun.
In addition to her 200-hour yoga teacher certification, Leah is also certified in Pilates, Radiant Child Yoga, Silver Sneakers Yoga Stretch and ROM (range of motion), and she is also a certified Laugher Yoga Leader. Core Balance Yoga in Lee's Summit, Missouri is Leah's second yoga studio, having sold her previous one in Lee's Summit in 2010.  She is also the co-creator of the Kansas City Yoga Festival and the Kansas City Yoga Teacher Training program.
Whether your goal is to begin or grow a practice, increase your strength and flexibility, learn how to control stress, or become a part of an amazing local community, Leah can help you achieve these goals, and in turn begin building a more independent and productive lifestyle.  Her personal goal is to expose as many people as possible to the benefits of yoga!  She believes that the sense of peace and transformation that a yoga practice can bring will astound you.
